Depending on the type of shoot, I may give you some suggestions ahead of time, but mostly you just need to show up ready to work with me. I will coach you throughout the session and work with you to find the best poses and expressions for your photos.

Providing you with guidance on what to wear and what to expect during the session are always a part of my process. When we discuss what you want to get out of the session, including how and where you will use the photos, we can plan what styles and looks are most appropriate for you.

I always welcome your input. After all, this is YOUR session and it's important that you get the photos you want. Whenever you have looks you want to create, it’s important to communicate with me ahead of time, so that we can choose appropriate locations and I can arrive prepared to get you the looks you want.

I agree: dance photography requires specialized knowledge and skills and should not be entrusted to a photographer with no background in this area. Even though I do not personally have experience as a dancer, I have worked with a number of top professionals and programs throughout Southern California and built trust among them through my dedication to constantly learning about the art of dance and how to best capture it in still images. I have also worked closely with photographers who specialize in dance photography, so that I can effectively serve the dance community.

I work throughout Southern California. Studio sessions are held in a studio appropriate to the style of your shoot. Location shoots are chosen according to the desired look for the shoot as well as their accessibility for photoshoots. When we plan your shoot we can discuss appropriate locations for your sessions.
