Welcome!
We are looking forward to creating a great experience for you and your dancer on November 9th. Throughout the process, refer back to this page whenever you need information about Photo Day, including important dates, the schedule for the day, or help in choosing and ordering photos.
I invite you to pin this page in your browser, so that you always have the information handy. And always feel free to reach out, whenever you have any questions, using the form at the bottom of this page.
Here’s a quick overview of the process. We’ll provide more details as the date approaches.
What’s included?
All dancers performing in The Nutcracker may participate in the Winter Photo Day. Each dancer will get:
2 individual poses for each costume/role
one group pose for each role
an opportunity to take photos with their siblings (let LDC know by ______ if you want this option)
a private gallery of each dancer’s (or family’s) photos
a selection of different print and digital packages to meet your family’s needs
Participation in Photo Day is free. You only pay for the prints or digital images you want to purchase. You can review their photos without any obligation to purchase.
Advance Pay Credit
Starting the week of October 27, you will have the option of purchasing Advance Pay Credit, a great way to get a discount on your photo purchase.
Think of Advance Pay as a gift certificate to yourself with an added bonus: by purchasing Advance Pay credit now you will save $5 on your photo order after Picture Day. Most parents use this credit to purchase the Digital Mini Pak, which includes 2 photos, but you can apply Advance Pay credit once to any order of $35 or more. Families with more than one dancer can purchase more than one credit for multiple discounts.
To purchase Advance Pay credit, simply follow the instructions in the email you receive. When galleries become available a couple weeks after Picture Day, your credit will be waiting for you, making checkout faster.
Advance Pay credit may only be purchased until Picture Day, November 9th, so purchase now to lock in your discount!
View the Winter Photo Day Flyer for a complete list of available products.
It’s not just about
the photos
Besides providing families with beautiful photos for their home and to share with loved ones, dance photography is actually an important part of your dancer’s development. Posing for the camera builds confidence in their dance skills and their ability to express themselves for an audience.
Displaying prints of your children has an added bonus: seeing photos of themselves around the house can add to a child's sense of security and self-esteem.
“Dancers gain beautiful photos to share with family and friends, confidence boost when they see themselves execute positions in a great ballet technique photo, and a fun time bonding with their classmates when they have performances together.”
- Emma Silagy, Los Alamitos Ballet School
MEET YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
During my 35 years serving students in the Fullerton area as a high school teacher and administrator, I gained a wealth of experience with young people. Photography has brought me back to my own creative roots as I serve young artists.
I have been fortunate to partner with schools such as LABS who are educating young people—not just to become dancers but to develop into persons of character.
